LPPA PWA DKI Jakarta Formulates Strategic Steps Ahead of 2024 Election

 The 'Aisyiyah Research and Development Institute (LPPA)  formulated strategic steps ahead of the 2024 Election. This was the result of a Public Discussion with the title Civilized Elections Towards a Better Democracy in the Alia Cikini Hotel Hall in a hybrid manner , Monday and Wednesday (25-27/9/23). 

This commitment is demonstrated by the formulation of a Follow-up Plan which contains approximately six points. First, create material about election outreach which is planned to be distributed to all branches. Second, carry out voter mapping. Third, identify 'Aisyiyah cadres to become election organizers at the TPS (KPPS) level. Fourth, strengthening the capacity of election organizers. Fifth, register as an election observer. Next, he established a women's cadre school.

The participants, who were Aisyiyah cadres, business charities and Muhammadiyah orthoms, enthusiastically took part in the discussion. All participants are committed to actively participating in supporting civilized elections as raised in the theme.

This is in line with what was conveyed by all the speakers, especially the Deputy Chair of PWM DKI Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Agus Suradika, M.Pd., who provided a valid reference on the importance of Muhammadiyah members participating in political activities.

Muhammadiyah's view of politics which is considered muamalah is the basis for Muhammadiyah citizens to at least exercise their right to vote and further actively encourage the realization of a better democracy.

The implementation of this Public Discussion was conveyed in remarks by the Chairman of PWA DKI Jakarta Dra. Hj.  's commitment as stated in the treatise on progressive women.

This treatise is the result of the 48th Congress which required 'Aisyiyah to play an active role in helping to resolve national issues, in this case regarding electoral issues in the lead up to the 2024 elections.

The same thing was conveyed by  as the largest women's organization 'Aisyiyah is committed to playing an active role and encouraging women's involvement in all aspects of life, especially politics. 

“Women's involvement in the political process is very important. "'Aisyiyah is committed to continuing to encourage women's involvement, in accordance with the tagline 'Aisyiyah is a progressive woman, namely being involved in economic, political, social and cultural aspects," said Mutmainah.

The Public Discussion which was held for two days presented various expert speakers from both academics and practitioners. On the first day, the Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta Regional Leadership, Prof. Dr. Agus Suradika, M.Pd., LHKP PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Si., Head of Research Division LPPA PWA DKI Jakarta Prof. Dr. Suswandari, M.Pd, DKI Jakarta KPU Doddy Wijaya, S.Sos., and Needem Director Khaerunnisa Agustiani.

A number of other names were present in the discussion on the second day, namely the Secretary General of the Perindo Party, Ahmad Rofiq, Head of the LPPA PWA DKI Jakarta Study Division, Dr. Endang Sulastri, M.Si., Chair of LPPA PP Aisyiyah Prof. Dr. Syamsiyatun, and Secretary of LPPA PWA DKI Jakarta Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yuni Hendrawati, M.Sc.

Discussion topics discussed included the role and position of Muhammadiyah in political activities, strategic issues of national politics, women's representation, campaign strategies for women legislative candidates, readiness of election organizing institutions, commitment of political parties in the context of women's representation, strategies and optimizing the role of women in elections, and women's political leadership.

Muhamamdiyah University Jakarta  is involved in public discussion events with leaders, lecturers and alumni being organizers and speakers at these activities. Among others, Deputy Chair of PWM DKI Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Agus Suradika, MPd, Chancellor of UMJ, Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, S.Sos., M.Sc., Deputy Chancellor II, Dr. Ir. Mutmainah, MM., Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta LPPA PWA Study Division, Dr. Endang Sulastri, M.si., Member of the DKI Jakarta KPU, Dody Wijaya S.sos., and Chair of the MIPOL FISIP UMJ Study Program Dr. Lusi Andriyani, M.Si.
