The opening of the UKM Expo UMJ 2023 was held uniquely

 Different from the first, the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students at Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (PKKMB UMJ) on the second day contained something unique. Followed by thousands of students, UMJ Deputy Chancellor IV, Dr. Septa Candra, SH., MH., together with the Chief Executive of PKKMB UMJ 2023, Ir. Harwidyo Eko, ST., MT, and the head of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) rode horses to the KH Hall. A. Azhar Basyir to open the UKM Expo 2023, Tuesday (19/9/23).

This time the agenda was held to introduce the Student Activity Unit (UKM) which was packaged at the UKM Expo 2023 entitled Develop Yourself and Carve Out Achievements with UMJ. Later, thousands of new students will tour campus A to be introduced to UMJ UKM.

UKM Expo is an annual event held to introduce UKM at UMJ to all students, especially new students. Currently UMJ has a total of 6 UKM, namely Menwa (Student Regiment), Mapala Stacia, Mapena, Sports UKM, Renaissance Campus Cultural Institute (LBK), At-Tanwir Campus Da'wah Unit (UDK), as well as 4 communities namely the Foreign Language Community (FLC) , Student Protocol Corps (KPM), Disabled Care Community (DCC), and Student Choir (PSM). All of these UKM are under the auspices of UMJ Deputy Chancellor IV for Student Affairs, Dr. Septa Chandra, SH., MH.

In his speech, Septa Candra made an analogy of UMJ as a second home, like a master in your own home, students must be active and not act like guests. "With yesterday's alma mater jacket being pinned on you, you have officially become part of the big UMJ family. For the next 4 years you will live your life here. Therefore you have to be active. "If being a student is just a butterfly (going home to college, going home to college) you are still a guest, not yet a Master," said Septa.

Furthermore, Septa emphasized that students must be active so that they don't get bored because they are only busy with academic problems. "When I go to campus I'm lazy, because all I remember is my coursework. But being a student is full of campus activities, apart from studying. "Then you will be happy if you are on campus," emphasized Septa.

In line with this, Farhan, Chair of UKM Expo 2023, invited students to develop their interests and talents at UKM UMJ. "I hope that after participating in the UKM UMJ Expo 2023, you can make a choice according to your interests and talents," concluded Farhan.

The UKM Expo event was opened directly by Septa Candra with a symbolic beating of the gong in front of all new UMJ students. After the event was inaugurated, the committee invited all PKKMB participants to tour the UKM stand which had been prepared with activities in the form of presenting performances, tools and explanations from UKM members directly.
