The introduction of Ortom Muhammadiyah UMJ is called Mastama, namely the Student Ta'aruf Period. Mastama was held in two places, namely Campus A (Cirendeu) and Campus B (Cempaka Putih), according to the location of the campus buildings. All the new students involved wore maroon clothing together.

This activity was specifically aimed at introducing the Muhammadiyah Autonomous Organization (Ortom) within the UMJ environment. The autonomous Muhammadiyah organizations involved include the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM), Hizbul Wathan (HW), and Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah.

Dean of FT UMJ, Ir. Irfan Purnawan, ST, M.Chem.Eng, who has an active background in Ortom Muhammadiyah, shared his testimony. He said that new students should not be afraid of losing money by being active in organizations.

"God willing, all of this will be beneficial (following Masta Ortom's series of activities). There are three Ortom Muhammadiyah, IMM, Tapak Suci, and HW. Customize where you want to join. There is no loss in joining, you must be able to take part in becoming an Ortom Muhammadiyah cadre. By actively doing activities, more experience is gained and networks are formed. " said Irfan.

Furthermore, Irfan emphasized that currently non-academic activities receive support from the Minister of Education and Culture so that they can be converted into Semester Credit Units (SKS). "This is an advantage, if you have achievements and activities outside (non-academic) they can be converted into credits. "It's not a loss to take part in all the activities, the more experience and potential you have," concluded Irfan.

In another session, Muhammad Zikri, Chief Executive of Masta Ortom, saw that the new students were very enthusiastic and called for them to take part in the Ortom organization owned by UMJ. “The new students are very enthusiastic, it can be seen from the morning that they are ready and gathered. "Hopefully they can take part after the Masta Ortom event and open up their mindset about the organization," explained Zikri.

Masta Ortom continued with the process of introducing the Ortom Muhammadiyah Organization to the respective Faculties for the continuation of this event.
