Kasman Singodimedjo, Monday (2/10/23).

This activity is not the first time the Communication Science Study Program (Ilkom) has held it. Previously, the Concentration Stories Alumni discussed Career Development in Public Relations Advertising and Broadcasting in the Digital Era.

This event invited graduates of the Science and Technology Study Program, namely News Anchor CNN Indonesia Rizky Harisnanda, SIKom., Social Media Admin Freelance of Leon Playground Dianira Khalishah, SIKom., and Personal Manager Influencer Wanda N Lutifiah, SIKom. The three of them shared their experiences when starting their careers in their respective fields. The digital era demands that everyone develop and adapt, such as the scientific fields of Broadcasting, Public Relations and Advertising .

The development of technology and information demands significant changes in the world of work. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic has also pushed the digitalization of work to become more widespread. Students need to pay attention and prepare their abilities to follow job trends needed in the future in the digital era. This was conveyed by Vice Dean 1 of FISIP UMJ Drs. Moh Amin Tohari, M.Si., in the Alumni Concentration Story event on Prepare Yourself for the Digital Era.

“Young students must pay attention to future trends, especially in this digital era. "All young people need to be digitally literate and master science and technology," concluded Amin.

On the same occasion, Dr. Oktaviana Purnamasari, M.Si said that this activity was an opportunity to introduce the Communication Science study program to new students which has produced active graduates in various digital industries, including Broadcasting , Public Relations and Advertising .

He also said that students need to prepare and solidify their choices to be able to adapt to the digital era. This improvement can be done by being active in organizing and taking part in the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) activities initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture where the Science and Communication Study Program has collaborated with several overseas campuses to carry out student exchanges.

Furthermore, Okta said that currently the industrial world has entered the digital era, communication is closely related to the digital world. This is the basis for choosing the theme for this activity. Not only that, this activity has a very significant impact in helping new students choose the major they are interested in in the Science and Communication Study Program by having the best graduates in their respective fields.

"The concentration that we have on Broadcasting, Public Relations and Advertisingis very connected to the digital era. "By inviting alumni, children will be able to have a vision in the world of work according to their chosen field," said Okta.

It must be believed that developments in technology and information can be utilized, one of which is social media. Utilizing social media can be an advantage in addition to the scientific field you are pursuing to get a job.
