The inauguration of the FEB Dean took place solemnly and was witnessed by the Secretary of the Daily Advisory Board (BPH), the Vice Chancellors, deans, students and academics within UMJ. Luqman was re-elected as Dean of FEB UMJ after completing his term of office for the 2019-2023 period which ended on September 21 2023.
In his speech, Luqman expressed his thanks to all the lecturers and education staff who had fought with him during the 2019-2023 term of office. "I believe that the purpose of the faculty is to provide education and teaching so that the role of lecturers and staff is extraordinary," he said.
On that occasion, Luqman also invited the entire FEB UMJ academic community to work together to build the faculty by facing the various changes occurring in the world of education today. "We need to be aware that there is always change, so we have to open our eyes and minds, strengthen our energy and endurance to respond to changes which are inevitable," concluded Luqman.
UMJ Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Sc., said that the decision to select the Dean of FEB was based on various considerations, one of which was indicators seen from the performance results of the previous period. Some of these indicators include the birth of the Management Science Doctoral Study Program and two Superior accredited study programs, namely the Management Study Program and the Accounting Study Program.
Ma'mun encouraged the birth of new professors from FEB considering that UMJ is targeting one GB in each study program. “We are trying to ensure that at least 3 of the economics students can become professors. "Hopefully our joint efforts to advance UMJ will always be given a way by Allah SWT," said Ma'mun.
BPH Secretary Syahrul Hasan, MAP, MM, CRP., appreciated the moment of the inauguration. He hopes that each faculty will have the same point of view as the rectorate so that they can be aligned in advancing UMJ.
Furthermore, he encouraged UMJ to see the potential and opportunities, especially after the Law on National Capital came into effect. "I think the UMJ campus, especially FEB, must seize this as an opportunity, because there are great expectations from students who intend to study at UMj to produce the best graduate products," he said.
According to Syahrul, students look at three things when deciding to go to college, namely to become a professional worker, entrepreneur and academic. "Lecturers must capture this as an illustration that on the other hand we know that there is a Jakarta label at UMJ. This is something you have to think about because the space opened up tremendously when Jakarta became a business area. "I hope the dean and the team can bring new faces to FEB," he stressed.
